About The Grassroots Initiative Project
"Who is The Grassroots Initiative Project (De GRIP)? The Grassroots Initiative Project (De GRIP) is an Edo-based organization, acting in the overall interests of the society with respect to: Breast and cervical cancer awareness programs, Production of Breast Self-Examination kit (BSE kit), Free breast and cervical cancer screening and Morals sex education and HIV awareness."
We operate primarily at the grassroots level, ensuring that life-saving health interventions and vital life skills reach underserved women, girls, and youth who need them most.
Today we fight cancer, empower women and youth with skills and education, and ensure young people have access to honest, compassionate sexual health information.
Our Mission
To uplift underserved populations from the bottom up by equipping girls with high-impact digital and technical skills, while dismantling stigmas and saving lives through comprehensive sexual health education and proactive cancer awareness campaigns.

To cultivate thriving, informed grassroots communities where young women break barriers in modern technology, and every individual is empowered with life-saving health education and awareness.

A Decade of Impact
Foundation Established
The Grassroots Initiative Project (De GRIP) was founded with a mission to address cancer, empower women and promote sex education.
First Cancer Screening Drive
We conducted our first free cervical cancer screening, reaching over 500 women in Edo State.
Youth Empowerment Launch
Launched our flagship youth skills and scholarship programme serving 1,000+ youth annually.
Sex Education Curriculum
Developed evidence-based sex ed modules adopted by 5 secondary schools across Nigeria.
Awareness Recognition
Awarded the National NGO Excellence Award for community health impact.
