DEGRIP Nigeria Hosts Mentorship and Empowerment Seminar on Women and Girls in AI
On 15th April 2023, De Grassroots Initiative Project (DEGRIP Nigeria) hosted an inspiring Mentorship and Empowerment Talk themed “Including Women and Girls in AI and the Digital Space” at the DEGRIP Nigeria Centre, Abuja.
The seminar brought together women, girls, youths, students and professionals to explore the growing opportunities available through Artificial Intelligence and digital technology. Discussions focused on digital skills, career development, cybersecurity, mentorship and the importance of creating an inclusive digital future where women and girls can actively participate and lead.
The event featured Edafe P. Eduvieakhhere, a Cybersecurity Professional and Digital Technology Advocate, who shared insights on technology, cybersecurity and opportunities for women and girls in the digital sector. She was joined by Bashirat F. Olatunji, a Cybersecurity Expert and Digital Transformation Leader, who contributed valuable perspectives on cybersecurity, digital transformation and professional development.
The seminar was supported by Onose Juliet, CEO of DEGRIP Nigeria and a Women Empowerment Advocate, whose continued commitment to community development, mentorship and the empowerment of women and young people remains central to the organisation's mission.
The interactive session provided participants with an opportunity to learn, ask questions, connect with experienced professionals and gain encouragement to develop the skills needed to participate confidently in the evolving digital economy.
